The first sale of NIDEK's Xenon Photocoagulator, which was developed in 1973, was to a customer in the United Sates, and the second to one in France. Since its foundation, NIDEK has always aimed to become a major player in the global market. In 1982, NIDEK established its first overseas base in Silicon Valley of the USA. Expanding next into France and Italy, NIDEK focuses on the local market for R&D, sales, and production. Today, NIDEK products are exported to approximately 100 countries worldwide.
